Finished product is a complete protein and will address issues of taste, mouthfeel, texture, digestibility and bioavailability that are inherent in existing alternative proteins.
Flexitein is the only whole food source, non-animal derived complete protein that has demonstrated parity with whey protein for muscle protein synthesis.
It is gluten-free, rich in proteins, fibres, vitamins and minerals. It contains essential amino acids required for muscle protein synthesis such as branched-chain amino acids (BCAA).
Flexitein’s other advantage, beyond its functional attributes, is a versatile flavour and colour direction due to neutral profile, which offsets a key issue with pea and soy proteins. A circular process is used to reuse heat generated during fermentation to preheat the drying process of Flexitein. The resulting dried product has a long shelf life can be stored and transported under ambient temperature conditions.
